The Brochs of Coigach are a new concept for a luxury holiday in the Highlands of Scotland that combines the advantages of traditional letting properties with an appartment hotel. Scàl's Broch is the perfect hide-away for two, Gille Buidhe's Broch is the ultimate destination for the most demanding visitors - a 120 square metre house of a kind that they wouldn't find anywhere else, featuring a huge open plan drawing room and dining area, a large kitchen, three further rooms, a large bathroom with sauna and two toilets. Like hotel suites, the houses are available on a daily basis. Brochs are Iron Age roundhouses peculiar to this part of the Scottish Highlands. The Brochs of Coigach are modern recreations of an ancient concept. They are embedded entirely in dry stone walls, timeless in appearance but contemporary in substance. Situated at the end of a private farm track within four acres of their own ground and designed by an award-winning architect, they grow, as it were, out of a hillside above the sea. Their outlines follow the irregular contours created by nature. Inside, they are equipped with free WiFi broadband Internet connection and high quality Bose sound systems, unusual antiques and contemporary Scottish art. Each window frames a stunning view of the coastline.

Take the A835 from Ullapool to Lochinver and after 10 miles to the left the single track to Achiltibuie. After 15 miles turn right towards Polbain, go up the hill past an old salmon station, a yellow house in Polbain is marked with a sign The Brochs of Coigach - Reception
